Quranic Teaching

"The best amongst you is he who learns the Quran & teaches it........." Lap of the mother is the first school of the child. Being Muslim parents, as our children grow up, we feel a very worry about how to teach Quran to kids. Just as we are worried about their practical education, we send them to school, set up tuition for them, in the same manner, we must be highly concerned about teaching Quran to kids from the alphabet to application in daily life.

Quran Nazarah

Learning how to read the Quran with the correct tajweed application

Quran Hifz - Children & Adults (separate classes)

Learning the Quran by heart and to memorise its entire content

Quran Study

In-depth yet simplified weekly classes on the content(s) of this glorious revelation and to understand how its application would affect our daily lives from simply the treatment of neighbours regardless of race, sex, gender and religion to economics.

The Arabic word 'Tajweed' linguistically means 'proficiency' or 'doing something well'. It comes from the same root letters as the word Jayyid, which means 'good'. When applied to the Quran, it means giving every letter of the Quran its rights and dues of characteristics when we recite the Quran, and observing the rules that apply to those letters in different situations. We give the letters their rights by observing the essential characteristics of each letter.

Calligraphy

Calligraphy  it is not hard to learn but it is hard to master! Calligraphy is a skill, that takes quite some practice in the beginning until you get the hang of it but you will need years and years of practice until you are a master at it. This is the case with most crafts though. We have had successful bespoke classes!

Faith studies - children

The Faith Studies syllabus enables learners to gain a better understanding of the religious writings, history and current affairs of Islam.  The syllabus is broad and ranges from the beginnings of Islam to the variety of beliefs and practices of Islam. The kids faith studies proved to be very popular as we were over-subscribed.

Islamic studies & seerah through e-learning

(Part of maktab studies)

As part of our vision which incorporates contemporary learning we have embarked on a technical journey. We have introduced e - learning which will facilitate learning from basic Qaida to full islamic studies that includes the 5 pillars of Islam and seerah. This will be further introduced in our academic studies and other courses going forward.  This is an exciting way to learn at the academy or home

The Qaida has further more categories and  these are to understand how to Quran Works. The Noorani Qaida teaches students via passages of the Quran. It begins with the Arabic alphabet. It then shows how the alphabets are connected. It is widely accepted as the Arabic alphabet

For us here at TPA, it is most important to get the foundation solid before moving on.  A strong foundation will hold pillars resiliently.  Our "roots" teaching methodology will allow the child's learning to firm this foundation from their early age.

Our teaching describes, compares, interprets, and explains religion, emphasising systematic, historically based, and cross-cultural perspectives of other major religions and promoting respect and tolerance for them.  Our focus is teaching how we can live together in community regardless of religious and cultural difference.

Good manners are very essential and compulsory to have (as a standard at our academy) for a person in order to live a disciplined, peaceful and happy life as well as get success in any field. Discipline on the flip side is a manner of life, where one should try to be on time and live in an organised and systematic way. Discipline can be clarified as training which can build up one’s moral character and helps to produce a specific type of behaviour For these reasons we will start practical role plays where our students will practise the manners in various scenarios.    We recognise that this needs to start in the early days to ensure that these skills become second nature to our students.

Activities & recreation (A&R) play a huge part in the education environment.  Our criterion for the simulation of the mind is based on the following.

  • Attention and concentration: Sustained effort, doing activities without distraction and being able to hold that effort long enough to get the task done.
  • Receptive (understanding) language: Comprehension of the English language.
  • Expressive (using) language: The use of English language through speech, sign or alternative forms of communication to communicate wants, needs, thoughts and ideas.
  • Play skills:  engagement in self motivated activities that are normally associated with pleasure and enjoyment where the activities may be, but are not necessarily, goal oriented.
  • Pre-language skills: The ways in which we communicate without using words and include things such as gestures, facial expressions, imitation, joint attention and eye-contact.
  • Self regulation: The ability to obtain, maintain and change one’s emotion, behaviour, attention and activity level appropriate for a task or situation in a socially acceptable manner.
  • Executive functioning (for elder youths): Higher order reasoning and thinking skills.

We have devised our activities & recreation based on the above principles.
